Shahriar "Nick" Niakan
President & CEO
Nick Niakan is a founder of aFe Power and our President/CEO. Nick is a long-time performance enthusiast with a passion for all things BMW. His stable of performance vehicles includes three BMW M3’s, an M5, 750Li, Ford Power Stroke 6.4L, Ford Power Stroke 6.7L, GM Duramax LMM and a 2012 Jeep Wrangler JK. Nick holds an MBA from Keller School of Management, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University and a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Parks College in St. Louis. Nick is a strong leader and drives the philosophy of quality, performance and flawless design for maximum user experience throughout the aFe organization. Nick has been awarded over 17 U.S. Patents for his various product designs. Nick is a longtime martial arts enthusiast and currently holds a 5th degree black belt in Judo.
Dave Howey
Vice President of Finance/CFO
David Howey grew up in Long Beach, CA and graduated from California State University – Long Beach with an Accounting degree. Dave spent much of his early career in the aerospace industry before joining Dick Cepek, Inc. in the late ‘90’s. Finding the automotive aftermarket more exciting than aerospace, Dave joined aFe in August ’00 as the Chief Financial Officer as well as becoming a partner in the corporation. He was later promoted to Vice-President - Finance & CFO, and is responsible for all financial aspects of the company. Dave’s stable of project vehicles include a BMW M3, GM Duramax LML, BMW 650i, Porsche 911 Carrera and a Jeep CJ7 for the occasional off-road adventure.
Stuart Miyagishima
Vice President of Engineering
Stuart is a founder of aFe Power and is the Vice President of Engineering. Stuart is responsible for the new product development process among aFe’s many product categories. As a young boy, Stuart fell in love with dirt bikes and ATV’s. This passion carried over into his adult life with the additions of UTV’s, trucks and cars. Stuart’s stable of rides includes a Dodge Ram Cummins 6,7L, GM Duramax LBZ, Lexus IS-F, Lexus GX470, BMW 335i and toys with his Yamaha Rhino on the weekends. Stuart holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Outside of work, Stuart is an avid golfer and during the winter you can find him skiing and snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain.
Eric Griffith
Vice President of Logistics and CIO.
Eric Griffith is responsible for corporate IT projects, logistics and inventory. Eric has been in the automotive aftermarket industry for the last 13 years. His previous experience includes hardware products with Black & Decker Corporation as Customer Service Manager, and in the Electronics Industry at NEC Corporation as a Regional Service Manager. Eric is a California native has been with aFe since 2002. Eric has held many positions at aFe and has been instrumental in developing our corporate infrastructure.
Chris Barron
Vice President of Operations
Chris Barron is responsible for all operations at aFe Power including manufacturing, purchasing and facilities management. Chris has been with the company over 10-years and has been an integral part of the growth of aFe. Chris came to aFe with over 30-years manufacturing and operation management experience. Chris has held many positions in his career (Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager and Production Supervisor) at some of the most respected brands in the US. Chris Barron is an avid runner and has competed in several marathons over the past few years. Chris’ stable of vehicles includes a Infiniti G35 and a Dodge Charger.
Paul Hardley
Director of Product Management
Paul Hardley is responsible for product management tasks at aFe. Paul is a long-time aFe employee and has held management positions in marketing, product management and customer service. Prior to joining aFe, Paul held management positions at Fluidyne High Performance and Viam Corporation. Paul earned his BA from Claremont McKenna College and his MBA from USC. During his time off, Paul enjoys snowboarding, photography, fishing, poker, sailing and windsurfing. Paul spent 16-years in Japan and is fluent in Japanese. Paul is an avid sport compact enthusiast and has completed many Honda projects. He currently is working on a Civic project vehicle and drives a BMW 325i (E46).
Dave Simpson
Dave Simpson – Vice President of Sales
Dave Simpson is responsible for all aFe wholesale sales programs and customer relationships. Dave was born into the performance aftermarket. His father owned and operated Inland Empire Automotive Warehouse where Dave got his start as a kid cleaning the parts racks. Dave was put on a motorcycle early in his life and that spawned the racer within. Dave is an accomplished racer on both bikes, cars and trucks. He has competed in hundreds of off-road races and won his class in the Baja 1000 in 2007. Dave is a long-time industry veteran and has held sales management positions with such powerhouse brands as Rancho Suspensions, Dana Corporation and Pro Comp Suspensions. When Dave has a weekend off, he is also an avid runner and has competed in many marathons and triathlons.
Jason Bruce
Jason Bruce – Director of Marketing and New Business Development
Jason Bruce is responsible for all aFe promotions, marketing programs and the customer service department. Jason began his career in 1987 working as a bike builder and parts specialist for Pep Boys in Fontana, CA. After graduating Platt College in Ontario, CA, he continued his career with a marketing focus. Jason has held sales and marketing management positions with such industry brands as Hooker Headers, Holley Performance and Street Scene Equipment. During the late 80’s, Jason began his love affair with cars working on Cal-style VW Bugs. Jason built up many project cars throughout his career including a 69 Mustang, 90 Mustang 5.0L, a small block powered Jeep CJ7 and a nitrous powered Subaru WRX. Outside of work, Jason is an avid martial artist and holds a 2nd degree black belt in Judo.
Ryan Takashima
Director - Global Sourcing
Ryan began his love of cars in the sport compact/tuner explosion of the early 1990's by fixing up his own cars and working at a San Diego performance shop. Ryan has worked with many of the top performance sport compact brands and in 2008 joined aFe to develop and launch the Takeda air intake system line for sport compact applications. With the successful launch of this brand, Ryan was promoted to Director of Global Sourcing. In this position, Ryan is responsible for coordinating aFe's global sourcing programs.
